3. Greetings Reception. I am Qu and I come from the planet Ouch. Whilst I was visiting earth yesterday I flew past your classroom. Your teachers were helping you to think of some “ou” words. Some people found it a little tricky. To help you I have written you a story. Can you find them all?

4. We flew through lots of thick white clouds and came to your planet we landed in a place called South Africa. We found lots of people on the ground.

7. Then we flew to a house and saw a mouse. We got really hungry. My friend Mouthy wanted to eat him.

9. We had so much fun! I even made an earthling friend called Couch. He took me to a place called Bushfield Road School. That’s where I found you!

11. It’s a shame we had to fly back home but I missed my pet, Zeb. I have taken him a pound of sprouts as a treat! He thinks it is yummy.

26. The ‘OW’ Sound There are TWO ways of making the OW sound: 1. One is with the letters “ow” of course 2. And the other is with the letters OU Lets see how this works: Say: “ow” - cow, clown, brown, down They all sound the letters they are spelt with: OW! Now say: “ou” - shout, loud, proud, cloud, mouse They all say the OW! sound, even though they are spelt with an OU Lets tell a story using these sounds:
