Your exam will be 45 minutes long and will cover all the work you have done since the start of the year. Use these slides to revise from which will help you on the day.

In this section you will be asked about the importance of the Jewish festival of Passover and what it represents. You will also be asked about the events of the Hajj for Muslims and what Muslims get from going on this pilgrimage

The festival of Passover is celebrated to remind Jews of a time when they were slaves in Egypt and how Moses rescued them from the clutches of the Pharoah. At the Passover meal Jews use a Seder plate which contains foods which remind them of the Exodus and when Jews were persecuted by the Nazis during the Holocaust.

The Kaba is an important shrine to Muslims in Makkah as it has strong connections with Muhammad Performing theTawaf. Circle the Kaba 7 times http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningzone /clips/hajj-day-one/3258.html

It reminds them of when Muhammad’s wife walked between the two hills searching for water

Muslims camp in tents at Mina where they share their ideas and feelings about being a Muslim with others http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningzone/clips/haj j-day-two/3259.html

Muslims must climb Mount Arafat where Muhammad once preached Muslims feel it is important to be close to where Muhammad once stood as he is Allah’s messenger

At Mina, the pilgrims throw 49 stones at 3 concrete pillars. These represent the devil that Abraham drove away with stones This is an opportunity for Muslims to drive away their own sins in life.

At the end the pilgrims trim their hair and also pay for a sheep to be sacrificed to celebrate a new beginning to their lives http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningzone/clips/haj j-day-three/3261.html

It has made me more conscious, aware, of my creator, Allah and it has made me a more humble and gentle human being. I was reminded too of the brotherhood of man and that everyone is equal before Allah Hajj also made me think a lot about The Day of Judgment when every single person will have to stand before Allah and be judged It reminds me of just how much I rely on Allah for my every single need, even the air that I breathe

This section is about the way that holy books are made special and why they are important to religious believers

In medieval times, bibles were hand written by monks and they were illuminated to make the pages look more decorative Bibles were so important and expensive, they were chained to the lectern. Like many holy books, the lectern raises the bible off the floor

The Qur’an is kept on a stand and has a cover. It is placed on the highest shelf in a room Muslims illuminate it using geometric patterns and some Muslims even try to learn it by heart

Not one word of its 114 chapters (Sura), has been changed over the last 14 centuries. The Qur’an, the last revealed Word of God, is the prime source of every Muslim’s faith and practice. It deals with all the subjects which concern humankind: wisdom, worship, family and law. But its basic theme is the relationship between God and His creatures.

Read the following different views about Jesus. You will need to come with your own views about whether Jesus was the Son of God or not. You will need to back up these ideas with facts about Jesus’ life.

Jesus coming back to life shows that life after death really does exist They never found a body in Jesus’ tomb so he must have risen Jesus proved time and time again with his miracles that he was the Son of God. Jesus was a good teacher who used tricks to try to prove he was the Messiah Jesus was seen by his disciples for 40 days after his death proving who he was Jesus was a man who was some kind of revolutionary Jesus’ body was probably stolen from the tomb by his supporters to prove resurrection Jesus never really died on the cross so can’t be the Son of God. Jesus claimed to be a King but did nothing to stop the Romans hurting the people Jesus sacrificed his life to help us overcome evil in the world
