Introduction The following text was included in 11ax SFD [1]
An UL MU PPDU (MU-MIMO or OFDMA) is sent as an immediate response (IFS TBD) to a Trigger frame (format TBD) sent by the AP The amendment shall define a mechanism for multiplexing DL acknowledgments sent in response to UL MU Transmissions In this presentation we defines the rules for UL OFDMA transmission Liwen Chu et al. UL OFDMA Transmission Sequence: UL OFDMA PPDU
Month Year Doc Title UL OFDMA Transmission Sequence: UL OFDMA PPDU For a UL OFDMA transmission, the frame exchange sequence defined in 11ax SFD [3] is Trigger frame, UL OFDMA PPDU, DL acknowledge. Trigger frame indicates to a set of STAs to transmit UL OFDMA PPDUs as an immediate response to the Trigger frame, the subchannels of the STAs for UL transmission etc. We propose that the reception of at least one of the UL OFDMA MPDU/A-MPDU sent as immediate response to a Trigger Frame indicates a successful transmission of the trigger frame Moreover, An AP shall not allocate UL subchannel in any 20MHz channel that is not occupied by the Trigger frame. In each 20MHz channel occupied by the Trigger frame, there is at least one allocated subchannel for UL transmission. Multi-STABA Trigger STA3 A-MPDU to AP Multi-STA BA 40MHz STA2 A-MPDU to AP Trigger STA1 A-MPDU to AP Multi-STA BA Backoff STA0 A-MPDU to AP UL DL Primary 20MHz channel. TXOP Liwen Chu et al. Straw Poll 1 Do you agree to add the following to the SFD:
UL OFDMA MPDU/A-MPDU is the acknowledgement of the trigger frame. When the AP receives UL MPDU/A-MPDU correctly from at least one STA indicated by trigger frame, the frame exchange initiated by the trigger frame is successful An AP shall not allocate UL subchannel in any 20MHz channel that is not occupied by the Trigger frame. In each 20MHz channel occupied by the Trigger frame, there is at least one allocated subchannel Liwen Chu et al. (Marvell)
