May 12, 2015 | Slide 16 OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION TIDE: New and Moved Students (Repeat from March 7 th Webinar) All Students need SSIDs in TIDE, SSIDs and TIDE records only come from CEDARS, Issuing an SSID creates a TIDE record. SSID Issuance process updated (for CEDARS admins): http://www.k12.wa.us/CEDARS/TrainingMaterials/SSIDUserGuideandPolicy.p df http://www.k12.wa.us/CEDARS/TrainingMaterials/SSIDUserGuideandPolicy.p df Data Flow from CEDARS to TIDE(for CEDARS admins and DACs): http://wa.portal.airast.org/wp-content/uploads/TIDE-Student- Records-Pull-Logic-Update.docx http://wa.portal.airast.org/wp-content/uploads/TIDE-Student- Records-Pull-Logic-Update.docx Pre-ID Details (for DACs): http://wa.portal.airast.org/wp- content/uploads/PreIDdetailsSpring2015_ECR.pdf http://wa.portal.airast.org/wp- content/uploads/PreIDdetailsSpring2015_ECR.pdf

May 12, 2015 | Slide 17 OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION TIDE: New and Moved Students (Reminders) NO NEED TO MANUALLY ADD DIRECTLY TO TIDE; SSID issuance creates a TIDE record ONLY when grade and subject are reported during issuance; Issuing an SSID lets students test; it does NOT “enroll” a student SSID Issuance process updated (for CEDARS admins): http://www.k12.wa.us/CEDARS/TrainingMaterials/SSIDUserGuideandPolicy.p df http://www.k12.wa.us/CEDARS/TrainingMaterials/SSIDUserGuideandPolicy.p df Data Flow from CEDARS to TIDE (for CEDARS admins and DACs): http://wa.portal.airast.org/wp-content/uploads/TIDE-Student- Records-Pull-Logic-Update.docx http://wa.portal.airast.org/wp-content/uploads/TIDE-Student- Records-Pull-Logic-Update.docx

May 12, 2015 | Slide 18 OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION New and Moved Students No Booklet Bubbles for Student Identity or Demographics Must print LABEL from TIDE Tracking Online test completion for students who move during window ORS: Plan and Manage Testing IF student has TIDE record in your district MUST check if they have completed Performance Task – if your site has a different PT, student not blocked from taking a second, different PT Students cannot retake CAT Can’t see the student in TIDE? See previous slides
19
May 12, 2015 | Slide 19 OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION New and Moved Students New from another Smarter state? No, we don’t have the scores and can’t get them Contact old district to verify if a report can’t be produced Data informs instruction; it’s not just for accountability Err on the side of administering test if old district cannot provide them “Partially Enrolled” Determined from CEDARS exit dates If all testing and makeup testing is complete, and you lack the staff/tech resources to test, that student would ultimately not count against your district’s totals if they do not sit for the summative test PE attempt/exemption is not new, but is different with the HUGE testing window – calculated from last day of school in CEDARS NOT SAYING ‘if they enroll after X date, they don’t have to test’
20
May 12, 2015 | Slide 20 OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION Cleaning Up Testing Records TIDE records – split SSIDs and Exited Students Ignore old records without any test data – School/District Exit Date in CEDARS is the critical element Working with AIR on plan to reattribute test data by SSID in a systematic way (currently, call the Helpdesk) Record Reconciliation? ALL program/demographics for accountability reporting come from CEDARS – NO DIRECT EDITS to “score file” ALL test incident codes come from TIDE – NO DIRECT EDITS to “score file” Reattributing student work may require the RR application or RR may be read-only reporting tool. Stay Tuned…
