22 22 © APICS Confidential and Proprietary 2015 APICS International Student Case Competition Donation to the 2015 NED Student Team from Mid-Hudson Chapter in loving Memory of Joan Marie Clark On 16 June 2014, Joan Marie Clark, wife of Jim Clark, CFPIM, CIRM passed away. She and Jim had been married for 58 years. Jim's job took him all over the world and the United States and Jim had a committed relationship with APICS, delivering thousands of hours of education, writing many APICS International Conference presentations/papers. None of this could have been done without Joan's commitment to Jim's career. She juggled raising a family, a job, and being Jim's partner in life. Jim's contributions to APICS were also Joan‘s. It's in remembrance of Joan's support of Jim's lifelong commitment to APICS that the Mid-Hudson Chapter is making a donation to the Northeast District APICS Student Team. It's our final farewell to a true lady, mother, grandmother, working professional, and quiet supporter of APICS.

He will be sadly missed by many dear family and friends. Rick’s dedication to APICS and the Buffalo Chapter was second to none and he served his Chapter in many roles over the years. Rick was also willing and able to provide his humor, light heartedness and hijinks to many APICS Northeast District Meetings. In remembrance of Rick’s dedication and commitment to APICS, ‘Friends of Rick’ are making a donation to the Northeast District APICS Student Team and a celebratory cheer to his lasting memory.

32 10:35 – 11:30 DBDM Q&A from February 2015 Joost Vles

33 33 © APICS Confidential and Proprietary DBDM Q&A review from February Q: How is ‘home’ zip determined? Are there territories or ownership of areas? This is an important question, and the answer will likely help us to answer the rest of the questions on this list. First a point of clarification – “Home” implies a residential or business location. Since most chapters do not have a bricks and mortar location, we provide potential customers with a chapter’s primary meeting location. That is where they hold PDMs, or deliver training. We ask each chapter to identify this location by completing the profile page in APICS Partner Connect.

34 34 © APICS Confidential and Proprietary DBDM Q&A review from February Q: If an instructor teaches outside of his or her ‘home zip’, where do the sales dollars go? The revenue follows the opportunity - thus it would go to the chapter booking the opportunity. The instructor would be paid by the chapter selling the deal out of the revenue collected - and at a pre-agreed rate. This agreement is between the Chapter and the instructor - APICS has no involvement in it. The instructor is in essence a contracted resource and an expense that would be part of the sale. If the DBDM sells the deal and the Chapter is a full opt-in then the DBDM would help facilitate the agreement with the instructor and be sure the instruction fees are accounted for as part of the deal costs.
