Mission Statement: Carmountside Community Pre-School encourages each child to develop and flourish in a happy, supportive and secure environment, enabling them to be confident, challenged, and successful and to have high self-esteem. We work in partnership with parents and local advisors to understand and provide the highest quality childcare for each child. We embrace the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and apply the four key themes; Unique child, Positive relationships, Enabling environments, Learning and development to the basis of our approach to early learning and development.

Aims: To maintain and keep providing high quality childcare with a happy atmosphere within a safe, secure and stimulating environment. To encourage the development of self-esteem and independence which will help children to make a natural transition to full-time schooling. To ensure each child is supported in developing their potential at their own pace by means of developmentally appropriate play activities and a high level of individual adult input. To provide activities and experiences that are planned to meet their individual stages of development within the early years foundation stage. To always look at ways to improve and update the environment, layout, equipment and resources available within the Pre-school To assist in the early identification of children & families requiring additional support

Business Environment It is proposed that we develop Carmountside Community Preschool as a preschool facility catering for up to 40 children in the 2 -3 year age range. We would provide early education and care for children from 8am – 4pm five days per week, initially term time only. Our stakeholders are to include the community of Carmountside/Abbey Hulton, the parents of the children currently attending Carmountside Primary Academy, the Governors of Carmountside Primary Academy, Foundation Stage staff members of Carmountside Primary Academy, the ‘Central 1’ Early Years Collaborative Group and, most importantly, the children who attend the preschool. Carmountside Community Preschool has strong working relationships with the local Schools as part of the TILT group and will play an active role in the delivery of early years provision for the ’Central 1’ Early years collaborative group – through this group, the Preschool will have excellent links with a range of services The nearest alternative providers catering for 2-3 year olds are: ‘Time Out’ – approx 1.1 miles away ‘Kids & co’ – approx 1 mile away Kingsland Kindergarten – approx 1.4 miles away Historical data tells us that parents/children from the Carmountside area do not/will not access these providers.
