United States Army Combined Arms Center TIER III SUPPORT

United States Army Combined Arms Center LEARNING OBJECTIVES Actions: Discuss Tier III Support. Condition: Given a classroom environment with operational Command Post of the Future (CPoF), working MCS network, connected to appropriate Servers and Databases. Standards: A. Identify the DSE’s, SRT’s, FSR’s, and S6 duties and responsibilities. B. Discuss the Single Interface to the Field (SIF). C. Discuss the Support Operations Center (SOC).

United States Army Combined Arms Center Digital Systems Engineers (DSE) Team Captain to the FSR/FSE team assigned to support the unit Single interface for unit issues/concerns pertaining to C4ISR Works closely with AFSBns and BLST in help desk process (incident reporting and C2 of contractors on the battlefield) DSEs are selected from the regional pool to support the unit Integrated Battle Command Subject Matter Experts (cross-trained) with a system-of-systems focus DSEs troubleshoot on-the-spot ABCS failures, resolving the majority of digital problems Coordinate support for system specific FSR/FSEs as required 24/7 Reach back capability through the Support Operations Center (SOC)

United States Army Combined Arms Center Tactical Battle Command (TBC) Senior Trainer (SRT) The Tactical Battle Command Senior Trainer (SRT) takes advantage of relevant operational military experience at brigade combat team, division, and corps level to maximize the use of TBC suite of systems as a part of the ABCS system of systems. Goal is to meet unit operational and training objectives and to partner with the Joint Warfighter in meeting mission success. The SRT helps bridge the gap between the operational architecture and the supporting systems architecture. The SRT and FSR work together as an exert team to ensure TBC can comprehensively address the battle command requirements of the supported units.

United States Army Combined Arms Center Tactical Battle Command (TBC) Field Support Representative (FSR) The TBC FSR team provides full spectrum Battle Command support during all phases of units moving through the ARFORGEN cycle; supports the Joint Warfighter (JWF) equipped (or being fielded) with the Tactical Battle Command (TBC) suite of systems for CONUS and OCONUS Contingency and Non-Contingency mission areas (NETT / Fielding, Exercises, Training, OIF, OEF) in order to ensure that commanders and their staffs can maximize the TBC Suite of Systems to accomplish their command and control mission.

United States Army Combined Arms Center Establish and maintain the network Local configuration management Network/system policies – IAVA compliance Close coordination with S3 to determine which person will use which role Creates the cut sheet in conjunction with the S3 Manage help desk Manage FSRs and control their movements on the battlefield S6

United States Army Combined Arms Center Maintain situational awareness of system / network status Announcement of planned & unplanned network outages System maintenance Management of CONOPs for planned and unplanned outages Prepares slant report for BUA/BUB/CUB/etc… Checks configuration of systems but does not configure any except for the Router, Switch and BCS/BCCS S6 cont.

United States Army Combined Arms Center The Support Operations Center was made to assist soldiers and support personnel with resolving C4ISR issues, requesting assistance and information from higher levels. Depending on how critical the issue is the SOC is able to call directly to PEO (Program Executive Office) level. It is designed to be the one place people can call 24 hours a day to get answers on support issues with Army Tactical Computer Systems. Manages all IRM Trouble Tickets. Support Operations Center (SOC)

United States Army Combined Arms Center The SIF initiative was stood up to provide 24/7 reach-back support for warfighters and forward support personnel through a secure C4ISR web portal. The Incident Reporting Module (IRM) serves as the standard tool for reporting and tracking issues and trouble tickets for all C4ISR systems Single Interface to the Field (SIF)
