Habitat The African elephant’s habitat is not helping it survive, they’re endangered. Asian elephants live in large blocks of forest near water sources and grasslands, habitat that has been greatly reduced in the last half century. They inhabit India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar (Burma), Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Bangladesh, and southern China. African savannah Asian Elephants at the zoo

LIKE US? Have you ever wondered, are elephants like us? They’re very different and the same from humans. I’m going to tell you about those exact things. They protect there young the same way we protect are kids. Elephants love to eat the same way I love to eat, and I mean LOVE. Their trunk can be used like a snorkel, the same kind we use. Some differences are they’re bigger, stronger, heavier, and they eat more than us.

PREDATORS The elephant’s predators are very common predators. Lions & crocodiles are the main attacks of an elephant, leopards and hyenas also attack. [very rarely though] An elephant can take on 1 lion but not a pack. A elephant would fall for the trick of the crocodile thinking it was a normal ordinary log.
7
TRUNKS An elephant uses it’s trunk for protection from lions & crocodiles. It uses it to eat, drink, and [if it’s a baby] to suck on. Also, an elephant might use it’s trunk to whack other elephants in a fight over their territory.
8
EARS The elephant’s ears can be small or big.
The African Elephant uses it’s big ears to fan itself. The Asian Elephant has surprisingly small ears. The ears are probably used to make them look bigger.
9
Tusks An elephant uses it’s tusks for MANY things. Ramming trees, fighting with other elephants, & maybe to attract female elephants. Both female & male African elephants have tusks. Only male Asian elephants have tusks.

Cool Facts Elephants can hear other elephants calling when it puts it’s trunk on the ground. It can also use it’s trunk as a spear, to stab anything between it & it’s calf. [including us!] The African Elephant rams trees until they fall down to get to leaves they can’t reach.
