Types of Clouds Cumulus—fluffy white clouds that mean good weather Cirrus—feather like clouds that mean cold clear weather Cumulonimbus—dark clouds that mean storms Stratus—clouds with layers that are dark and can mean rain

Types of Precipitation Rain—liquid Snow—combination of solid and liquid Sleet—frozen rain Hail—solid balls of ice Fog—water vapor on the ground

Instruments Used to Measure Weather Data Barometer—humidity—water vapor in the air Thermometer—temperature Wind vane—wind direction Anemometer—wind speed
