NON-TARIFF AND TECHNICAL BARRIERS TO TRADE IN THE CEFTA REGION
Non-tariff barriers in the area of phytosanitary measures, technical and administrative barriers are an obstacle to the expansion of regional trade. Within the CEFTA Region, in the last three years, 114 different NTBs were recorded, from among which 70% were eliminated. Serbia is number one as regards the applied barriers because of the largest share in the regional trade, and because its commodity trade is quite diversified. *This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo Declaration of Independence.
