Indirectly characterize the characters based on the following quotes: (Holt text pg1242) 1). Lennie: “Lennie covered his face with his huge paws and bleated with terror.” 2). (About Lennie) “You’d drink out of a gutter if you was thirsty.” 3). George: “Now, look-I’ll give him the work tickets, but you ain’t gonna say a word. You jus’ stand there and don’t say nothing.” 4). (To Lennie) “No, stay with me. Your Aunt Clara wouldn’t like you running off by yourself…”

How does George and Lennie’s reactions to the old boss reveal aspects of their characters? Summarize what happened when they met the boss. What did George do? What did Lennie do? What does that reveal about their personalities?
