TEST A MULTIPLE CONTACT RELAY 5-60KW TQG GENERATOR SETS
2
MULTIPLE CONTACT RELAY Is operated by the flow of electricity (24V DC) in one circuit, and controlling the flow of electricity in another circuit. A multiple contact relay consists of an electromagnet with both moving and stationary contacts. When the electromagnet is de-energized, the contacts return to its original position.
3
A B 7 9 8 6 5 4 1 2 3 E = Energized D = De-energized DE There are six different sets of contacts. ALWAYS use 7,8,9. When energized 4,5,6 are used. When De-energized 1,2,3 are used. MULTIPLE CONTACT RELAY COIL CONTACTS
4
ELECTROMAGNET (COIL) When the electromagnet (coil) is energized by applying 24V DC to pin, (B) = (-) and pin (A) = (+), to energized, it exerts a force that overcomes the pull of the tension spring. This moves the contacts to either complete or break a circuit.
5
MOVING CONTACTS PINS 7,8,9 A moveable contact is connected to the armature in such a way that the contact is held in its normal position. When the electromagnet is energized, it exerts a magnetic force that overcomes the pull of the tension spring and moves the contacts to either ENERGIZE or DE-ENERGIZE a circuit with the stationary contacts.
6
STATIONARY CONTACTS It will make (energize) or brake It will make (energize) or brake (de-energize) a circuit with the moving contacts. Pins 4,5,6 and 1,2,3 are stationary contacts Pins 4,5,6 and 1,2,3 are stationary contacts
