Florida STEM: STEM education is the intentional integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and their associated practices to create a student- centered learning environment in which students investigate and engineer solutions to problems, and construct evidence-based explanations of real- world phenomena with a focus on a student’s social, emotional, physical, and academic needs through shared contributions of schools, families, and community partners.

FDOE Strategic Technology Plan In the 2014 Florida Legislative Session, Section 1001.20, Florida Statutes, was updated to require the Florida Department of Education to develop a five-year strategic plan for assisting districts in establishing Florida Digital Classrooms.

Digital Classroom Plans (DCP) As required by s. 1011.62(12)(b), Florida Statutes (F.S.) each District School Board shall submit to the department a Digital Classrooms Plan (DCP) that has been adopted by the district school board. The district plan shall meet the unique needs of students, schools and personnel in the district. A DCP allocation has been established to assist districts in this effort under s. 1011.62(12)(c), F.S.
