What Is the Definition of Stereotyping?
Stereotyping is the act of judging a person or group of people because of the actions or behaviors of others that are similar. Stereotyping is when a person puts another person in a certain category. It means to look at everyone in a certain group the same way instead of looking at the individual. Assuming that everyone is identical in some way just because they have a similar features or characteristics.

How to Avoid Stereotypes
Check your sources. Research your information and ensure that you are able to avoid stereotypes given to you by someone else. Accept as fact only those things that you can prove. Broaden your friend base. Befriend everyone. Really listen and talk to people of all different types and only form opinions about who they are and not about some group or ethnicity they may be a part of.

Don't take for granted any opinion that pops into your head
Don't take for granted any opinion that pops into your head. Step outside of the situation and look at the big picture. By looking at all sides, you will be able to come to your own opinion without blindly following one side or another. Understand that everyone is different. Treat others as you would have them treat you by waiting to form opinions until you know a particular person or group.

It's not fair to stereotype a whole group of people based on one person you don't like.
It is easy to jump to conclusions about people, but being able to avoid stereotypes is more rewarding.
