3. © Imperial College LondonPage 3 Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974 The Act imposes general duties on employers to secure the health, safety and welfare of people at work, and protect others against risks arising from the work activity.

8. © Imperial College LondonPage 8 Duties of Employees IN ADDITION (M.H.S.W.) They must use any machinery, dangerous substances and safety devices in accordance with any instructions and training They must inform their employer of any serious or imminent danger to health and safety
