Logger Direct data transmission via email, internal (SMTP) or default system email client ‘Show Report’ utility for direct access/correction of MET bulleting SEAS console utility: Remote command system (via Iridium SMS service) Collection of manual (SEAS MET Obs. Logger) and automatic (SEAS AutoImet Data Logger) observations

Logger: US/VOS requirements Contain all SOT – VOS recommended improvements (11504-10-OBS-WIGOS- OSD-MAR-SOT.pdf) All formulas and algorithm used to calculate dew point and relative humidity are taken from WMO-No. 8, 7 th edition, 2008, Part I, Annex 4.B IMMT-V formatted message to support the VOSClim program and MQCS-VII Recruiting country ‘Not Assigned’ option in support to the ancillary pilot project Meta-data report generation. Capability to transmit all data and meta-data in binary format Current version (v9) compatible with Windows 7

AMVERSEAS Status and Plans U.S. Port Meteorological Officers Meeting, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, August 2014 TSG and XBT Data Recorders TSG Data Recorder has been completed and is in operation in ships of the SOOP. New features include the ability to read metadata (such as instrument calibration coefficients) automatically. XBT Data Recorder: Under Development.

AMVERSEAS Status and Plans U.S. Port Meteorological Officers Meeting, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, August 2014 SEAS Server for Data Distribution XBT and MET observations are received in the SEAS server. These data are decoded and stored in a database. They are also submitted to the GTS in real-time XBT data is submitted to the GTS in ASCII (JJVV) and BUFR MET data is submitted to the GTS in ASCII (BBXX) AMVER reports are created and submitted to the US Coast Guard

AMVERSEAS Status and Plans U.S. Port Meteorological Officers Meeting, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, August 2014 SEAS Server for MET Data Distribution Work is underway to receive and process and distribute MET observations AMVERSEAS and TurboWin Data transmitted from ships will be decoded and submitted to the GTS in real-time in ASCII (BBXX) and BUFR In order to accomplish this several tasks must be completed first: o Software to decode TurboWin data files o Work with current BUFR template for MET observations (currently not operational) o BUFR bulletins will only contain as many metadata as we receive
