PREVENT In Australia, the term 'cybercrime' is used to describe both: crimes directed at computers or other information communications technologies (ICTs) (such as hacking and denial of service attacks); and crimes where computers or ICTs are an integral part of an offence (such as online scams, fraud, identity theft and the distribution of child exploitation material).

acorn.gov.au What is the ACORN? REPORT. PROTECT. PREVENT The Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network (the ACORN) is an online reporting tool and a source of advice on cybercrime prevention. It is a national police initiative, delivered in collaboration between the Australian Government and all police agencies.

acorn.gov.au Why should I report? REPORT. PROTECT. PREVENT Reporting to the ACORN is simple and quick. Reports will help to build a national intelligence database of cybercrime, which will help police to identify alarming trends and prevent and disrupt future criminal activity.
