2 My Travel Project – Pre -Task Phase Language Learning Goals: 1/Lytning: Eleven kan forstå korte faste fraser. 2/Samtale: Eleven kan stille og besvare enkle spørgsmål ved hjælp af faste fraser 1/Sprogligt fokus: Eleven kan efterligne hyppige fraser. 2

3 My Travel Project – Pre-Task Phase Activities: Intro to the topic through a teacher presentation of a homemade suitcase. (The suitcase is made by a big sheet of cardboard, folded in half. You could make a handle. Decorate the suitcase with pictures of: means of transportation and one flag) Make an introduction using the phrases: – I am going to… – I am going by… The pupils guess the destination and means of transport for the teacher’s “travel”. 4 My Travel Project – Pre-Task Phase Activities: Choose 5 – 10 countries with the corresponding flags. Present them and do a Mix and Match. (Cooperative Learning) (Does not have to be a big part of this theme) Clothes: Present the different clothes using flashcards or items from real life. Play bingo with the kids, using different kinds of clothes. 6 My Travel Project - Core Communicative Activities: Learners use vocabulary from pre-tasks: Make your own suitcase (see pre -task): -Country, flag and means of transportation on the front. -Clothes and accessoires inside the suitcase (Pictures and corresponding words) Presentation: The pupils present their own suitcases in pairs. The pupils are able to use the phrases: I am going to… I am going by… I am travelling by… I am bringing… 6

7 My Travel Project – Post Tasks: Language learning goals: 1-2/Skrivning: Eleven kan lege med enkelt skriftsprog. 1-2/Læsning: Eleven kan afkode hyppige engelske ord med billedstøtte. 1-2/Sproglæringsstrategier: Eleven kan finde skrevne engelske ord. 7

8 My Pet Project 3 – Post Tasks: List the words in the categories in class. What do they remember? Odd Man Out: The teacher makes an example and the pupils produce their own Odd Man Out for the others to solve. 8
