COSMIC RAY OBSERVATORY PROJECT Goal of the statewide project Install cosmic ray detectors at high schools around the state of Nebraska Link the data-acquisition computers via the Internet Develop the largest cosmic ray detection network anywhere (75,000 square miles)

PREPARING WIRING HARNESS Untangling and grouping wires for the particle detectors

CONNECTING ELECTRONICS Rooftop detectors are connected to data acquisition cards (DAQ) located inside the building.

SETTING THRESHOLDS To calibrate the particle detectors, thresholds had to be verified and set

GPS AND COMPUTER SET UP Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) receiver is connected to the data acquisition card. The data acquisition card is connected to the computer.

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES At present, computer is not communicating with the data acquisition card. Contact has been made with Technical Support for assistance in diagnosing and correcting this problem.
