Times of London – 4/2009 The location of the Shroud of Turin between 1204 during the Fourth Crusade until the middle of the 14 th century has been established from documents in the Vatican Secret archives by Vatican researchers. It was in the care of the Knights Templar who used it as part of their initiation. The Vatican said the mystery of the relic’s missing years has been solved.

Linen Wrappings of Egyptian mummies often give radiocarbon dates 1000 years younger than that for the body which they cover. Bones dated to 1510 BC Linen wrappings dated to 255 AD 1750 YEARS DIFFERENCE Mummy #1770 – Manchester Collection – a 13 year old girl
39
Ibis bird sacred to the Egyptians were mummified as offering to Gods Age of linen wrappings is about 550 years younger than the age of the bird. “Danny the Mummy” Linen AGE CAN NOT BE DETERMINED BY CARBON DATING - ERROR OF 500-1000 YEARS

Fibers from Region used for dating have a Yellow-brownish color from gum-arabic used in textile applications in 16 th century. Fibers from other parts of shroud do not have the coating. End to end splice – two ends Show different colors and Different amount of coating.

Darn splice used in 16 th century - half covered with starch dates to 13 th century AD, other end claimed to date ~3 century AD. Starched end of Darn

Vanillin is a chemical component present in linen from flax fibers used to weave it. Vanillin disappears over time at a calculated rate. A medieval-age cloth should have 37% vanillin left. The shroud body has no Vanillin indicating that it is 1500-3000 years old. Dead Sea scrolls have no Vanillin. Radiocarbon samples have Vanillin. Ray Rogers Conclusions 12/2004 The Sudarium of Oviedo shows all the physical and chemical properties of a very old sample of linen. There is a finite probability that the Sudarium is related in time and location to the Shroud of Turin.
