11 Founded in 2004 by the French, Italian, and Spanish consulates in conjunction with Academica Corporation in order to provide a quality education with a focus on cultural studies. Our High School has been an school in 2004– 2005, 2005–2006, 2007–2008, 2009-2010, and expected to be in 2011-2012. 12 Code of Student Conduct/ Cell Phone Policy All parents should read the code of student conduct posted on the MDCPS website. We abide by the same code of conduct and consequences as MDCPS. This includes at LUNCH TIME! Cell phones, Ipods, and headphones will not be given back to students under any circumstance. If a student needs to use the phone, they may use the phone in the main office.

13  Parents/guardians must drop off their students between 7:00am and 7:15am. Students should report to class by 7:25am.  Students arriving to school after 7:25am are tardy and will require a pass from the office.  When a child is absent, a parent must provide a note to excuse the absence. After five absences, the parent/guardian must provide official documentation regarding the absences.

Block 4 Period 6/7 12:45pm- 2:30pm Students have an alternating block schedule. A days, students will go to periods 3,5,7, and 8 B days, students will go to periods 2, 4, 6, and 8

15 Parents/Guardians are required to volunteer at least thirty (30) hours per school year at International Studies Charter Middle/High School. All hours must be completed prior to the last day of the school year. GRADES 6-11: Failure to complete the 30 hours will result in your child being placed on the waiting list for the following school year and not automatically re-registered. GRADE 12: In order for students to participate in ANY extracurricular activities, parents must be up to date with their volunteer hours (3 hours per month or equivalent). For more information about volunteer opportunities please see the school’s website.

16 A catered meal will be available each day for students to purchase. Parents may pre-pay (cash or check) the meals however they like (daily, weekly, monthly, annually). Our cafeteria manager, Maria de Armas, will be available from 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM or your parents may give you the payment to make at lunch time. Our menus will be available on our website a month in advance. Students may also bring their own food or make purchases from the vending machines. Parents MAY NOT DELIVER food to their children. If you forget your lunch, you will be able to purchase lunch in the cafeteria.

This does NOT include PE Shirts.

21 Before/After School Care Program In order for students to remain on campus after school, they need to be enrolled in an after school activity or sport or be enrolled in after school care. Students will not be permitted on campus until 6:55am if not under the supervision of school personnel. In the morning, students will not be permitted into the cafeteria to wait for class to begin unless they are enrolled in before school care. In the afternoon, students are not permitted to stay after half an hour after dismissal unless participating in extracurricular activity or after school care program.
