CEBT: The Virtual Incubator concept l Based on regional NETWORKING of universities, r&d institutions and firms´ associations. l Regional Administration promotes and co-finances VALUE-ADDED SERVICES to individual incubators and entrepreneurship programmes. l COMMON services, procedures and assessment. l Offering both OFF-LINE and ON-LINE services. Growing importance of telematic services. l A part of a broader REGIONAL system to support the creation of NTBFs ( ).

CEBT Services : Policy improvement, awareness and detection of ideas l Policy improvement: Studies and action plans to improve internal NTBF policies. l Awareness: Seminars to show the way to commercialize research results and how the ideas have to be presented to the Institution. l Evaluation of Ideas: Ideas are evaluated and followed- up by each Institution. l Training of promoters: International training through Gate2Growth.

l Training of entrepreneurs: to obtain a business plan (approx. 120h+20h of mentoring by professional consultants) and other specific courses. l Mentoring: Support to develop business plan, viability studies, etc. l IPR & Technology watch: Support by the Innovation Circles of the madri+d System, patents, etc. l Technology Transfer: Support through the IRC CEBT Services : Pre-incubation (business plan and company creation)

l Information and Documentation: Virtual services and assistance provided through madri+d, www.madrimasd.org/emprendedores l Coaching: Support to start of activity by experts l Search for financing: CEBT has no financial support for NTBF, yet actions have been launched to help NTBF find funds (agreement with CDTI-Neotec) Search for space: Space identification besides space provided by incubators, … l Cooperation between entrepreneurs: Meetings of entrepreneurs besides each incubator,.. CEBT Services : incubation (companies created within max. 2 years)

CEBT Action: some results since 2000 10 Courses for Entrepreneurs (169 attendees) 5 Courses for Promoters (61 attendees) 225 Ideas evaluated Mentoring of 207 entrepreneurial projects 46 Awareness Seminars, 2 spin-off competitions 62 Technology Based Firms created –ICT (28, 12 Telco) –Biotechnology, Health & Agro-food (14, 10 biotec), –Environment (6), –Industrial manufacturing (3), –Others (11, 3 related to construction)
