23. ASL TIPS: NOTICE THIS? Notice the sentence “ME TEACHER, YOU STUDENT.” You probably wondered what is that? That is called a gloss. It is how you translate the English sentences in ASL. You will learn how to gloss the sentences in ASL gloss for you to sign later in the lesson. Example: English: I am not Deaf. I am hearing. ASL: ME NOT DEAF. ME HEARING.
