Registration Workshop Searching for Classes by Keyword Why it is useful: Byrne Seminars (Arts & Sciences) Intro to Business (Administrative Studies) Limitations: You must refer to the course exactly as it appears in the Schedule of Classes Development of Europe can be found by “Europe,” but not “Development” You cannot exact a search using quotes A search for Art will render results for “Earth” and “Apartheid”

Click “Web Registration” on the Academics tab on MyRutgers Direct link: http://Webreg.rutgers.edu Personal Access Code (PAC) = the month and day of your birth (If your birthday is March 15 th, your PAC is 0315) Select the Appropriate Semester Register by clicking on the Course Lookup tab

Registration Workshop Top Five Reasons “It’s Not Working” 1.You don’t have the prerequisite READ THE PREREQ COLUMN! 2. It is restricted to a specific population of students READ THE NOTES! 3. You don’t have enough credits to drop ADD A COURSE! 4. The course is mandatory THERE’S NO ESCAPING EXPOS! 5. It meets at the same time as another course on your schedule ADD A DUMMY COURSE, DROP THE CONFLICT. OR COME TO AN ADVISING CENTER!

Plan to keep the course: ATTEND THE CLASS Are unsure of whether you want to keep the course: ATTEND Plan to switch a section of the course: ATTEND Plan to add a new course: ATTEND Plan to drop the course: DO NOT ATTEND THE CLASS You MUST attend the first day of your writing course – even if you plan to change the section! September 11 is the last day to drop a course without a W September 12 is the last day to add a course

Registration Workshop Special Permission Numbers (SPN) Function, Fact and Fiction Definition: A six-digit code which overrides class stop- points, obtained from professor or department (does not override prereq) Courses that DO NOT give special permission: Writing, Economics, Computer Science, Byrne Seminars and FIGS Math and Chemistry: go online! SPNs only work once and are section-specific September 11 is the last day to drop a course without a W September 12 is the last day to add a course
