HIGH RISK JOBS – RED CODE WORKING WITH ASBESTOS, OR UNDERTAKING A JOB WHERE THERE IS A LIKELIHOOD THAT ASBESTOS IS PRESENT IS A HIGH RISK TASK FOR WHICH A JSA FORM MUST BE FILLED OUT PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF WORK. ASBESTOS OR LEAD -Jobs that require us to work with asbestos or lead THE FOLLOWING IS A HIGH RISK TASK FOR WHICH A JSA FORM MUST BE FILLED OUT PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF WORKS.

WORKING NEAR POWER LINES -Jobs that require us to work closer than 6 metres to a main power line on the street. And Closer than 2 metres to a private power line to a private house. GAS LINES -Jobs that require us to work near gas lines, or with gas lines. Natural or LPG DEMOLITION -Jobs that require us to carry out demolition works, stripping walls Pull off roofs, excavate concrete. HIGH RISK JOBS – RED CODE WORKING AT HEIGHTS -Jobs that require being more than 2 metres high (from the ground to your feet) THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF OTHER HIGH RISK TASKS FOR WHICH A JSA FORM MUST BE FILLED OUT PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF WORKS.

REMOVING A FLUE Working with asbestos, or undertaking a job where there is a likelihood that asbestos is present is a high risk task for which a JSA form must be filled out prior to commencement of work

WORKING AT HEIGHTS -many jobs where asbestos may be present can also require being more than 2 metres high (measured from the ground to your feet)

AUTHORISED ROOF WORKS ACCORDING TO THE PITCH NO GO FLAT ROOF UP TO 5 DEGREES UP TO 25 DEGREES 25 TO 30 DEGREES 30 DEGREES AND OVER Complete your JSA and you are authorised to sign it off Complete your JSA and PHIL KELLY/Manager must sign the job off

PRE ROOF CHECKLIST Do you have your PPE Gear (Personal Protective Equipment) ? Are you authorised to work at that height ? Do you have your safety harness on board ? Does a guard rail need to be assembled ? DON’T GET LEFT HIGH & DRY, THINK ABOUT YOUR JOB BEFORE YOU START! Do you need any scaffolds, mobile lifts, boom equipment

Getting on the roof Using an extension ladder Falling Ladder Slipping Tie the ladder off top and bottom Wear your protective boots with grip (see your PPE) Use an approved ladder Have 3 points of contact on the ladder at all times Feet of the ladder in good order Make sure the ladder goes 900mm over the top of the roof, unless through a manhole Don’t go above 3 metres in height above the ground GUIDE ONLY DON’T FORGET YOUR PPE

Working on the roof Wear your appropriate work boots with steel caps at all times ( (see your PPE) Slipping Falling Wear your roof harness if going closer then 2 metres to edge of roof and/or Use a guard rail if working closer then 2 metres to the edge Tripping Take your time, don’t run choose your foot holes carefully GUIDE ONLY DON’T FORGET YOUR PPE
