March 28, 2006LIS580- Spring 20065 Group Discussions Your job is to facilitate an analytical discussion and come to conclusions Allows class members to explore the day’s material in a meaningful context Should end in a clear summation and outcomes Each session will have a case to build on, but participants are encouraged to extend the discussion to include other readings and areas of personal experience

March 28, 2006LIS580- Spring 20067 Course Organization Course organized in four major sections, each with one guest lecture from a practitionerfour major sections Correspond to the textbook sections and chapters, and lectures will parallel the readings Additional readings will add the library perspective, or a deeper look at issues in the area being studied Each day will begin with an instructor-led (or guest) lecture/discussion, and end with a student-led discussion of a case
