2 Purpose Linwood Community Coalition The Linwood Community Coalition Groups have joined together to create a positive change within the Linwood community. The Coalition believes that groups who work together solve local problems together.

4 Our Vision Linwood Community Coalition The Linwood Community Coalition Groups vision is to make Linwood a stronger, safer, healthier, greener and happier place to live.

5 Our Mission Linwood Community Coalition Our mission is to provide a fit for purpose community facility for the benefit of all age groups in Linwood…........run for the community by the community.

6 Community Benefits Linwood Community Coalition Provide a focal point for local people to meet up informally; Provide a common ground for communities and professionals to work together in an innovative way; Support the Governments programme to reduce health and social inequalities by empowering local communities to address local problems; Provide the opportunity for local residents to volunteer in their own community by learning new skills which in turn will build confidence and self esteem that could lead to future employment; Provide a long term outcome on Social Return on Investment; as It would be a ‘More than Profit’ project that would bring added value through meeting social, health and environmental needs for all age groups within ‘our’ community.

7 Council Benefits Linwood Community Coalition The Linwood Community Coalition recognises that it has the potential to contribute to local and national policy and strategy: –National Performance Framework –Single Outcome Agreement –HEAT targets

8 Community Consultation Linwood Community Coalition 4000 households in Linwood were targeted to give their views on the proposed plans for the New Tweedie Hall. To-date we have received responses from 517 household. (average of 3 members per household, equates to responses from 1551 residents)

9 Linwood Community Coalition Do you think the new Tweedie Hall should be located within the new Linwood Town Centre development?

10 Linwood Community Coalition Do you think the New Tweedie Hall should be ‘run for the community by the community’ and all income should be reinvested back into Linwood to develop the facilities we need?

13 Plans Linwood Community Coalition The Linwood Community Coalition will: –Make a joint approach to Renfrewshire Council to request a meeting to discuss the opportunity of managing and designing the New Tweedie Hall on behalf of the Linwood Community. –Confirm the level of support Renfrewshire Council can provide to empower the community of Linwood to achieve this.
