2. How did we start? We have a partnership with The Joshua Group as a sustaining corporate sponsor We wanted to re-invent our annual Port Days event We have a new CEO who has big ideas about re-connecting the community and the Port

3. Planning Began in February We reached out to port and community partners with the concept and they loved it By the time June rolled around we had 36 participants in the day and people were calling or writing because they wanted to join in Partnering with our military base, CFB Gagetown, was a big draw we had early in planning

4. Advertising We started to advertise in May through our daily paper, and the community weeklies in the suburbs surrounding our City. We used radio for the last week We sent circulars and poster to schools We also used PSAs and media outreach every chance we had We used Facebook and Twitter

5. 3000 people came to see our 36 participating partners

6. Our CE0 helped cook 3000 hot dogs

7. Opportunity for our Canadian Forces to conduct their own outreach

8. We included hands-on aspects of the marine life of the Bay to interest families

9. And we provided opportunity to educate about the Port

10. Best of all we raised $10,000 for the charity And very positive buzz in the community about the Port!
