Other assumptions 1 reprocessing per year –Need to re-generate all MC with the same release –Will happen at the end of data taking, i.e. starting during the summer –Need to maintain SP(i) and SP(i+1) Need at least 3x data for BBbar, 1x data for continuum Signal modes ~15% of total BBbar are 40% of a generic allocation

SP performance as of today (Courtesy of Fred Blanc, who made a survey and showed the results this Tuesday at the CX meeting) CPUs in 25 sites (including SLAC): 2600 Including resource sharing: 2400 Normalizing to 1-GHz CPUs:3100 We produce (70±10) Mevents per week This means 22.5 kevents / CPU / week “Experimental number” (includes inefficiencies)

Putting all together… year simulate reprocessMeventsCPUs 2004 100ifb 240ifb 980+2200 2800 2005 160ifb 400ifb 1400+36004400 2006 150ifb 550ifb1400+50005600 These are minimum requirements: people will be happy to get as much BBbar as possible! (we have already exceeded the SP5 goals)
6
INFN contribution We always wanted to make 18% of SP, but we never managed… In order to do that, we need in Italy: –2004: 500 CPUs –2005: 780 CPUs –2006: 1000 CPUs How?
