Recall grading format? v 35% Two midterms (15%, 20%) v 20% Homework - 3 group assignments v one brief oral presentation for each group v (written portion unchanged- 1-2 pages for each assignment). v 35% Final exam v 10% Class participation – in class QOTD (Questions of the Day) 2

Administrative n Homework 2 and 3 u If you presented during Hwk 1, then you can choose to do Hwk 2 and/or Hwk 3 u If you are to do oral presentation for hwk 2, then you should do hwk 2 (hwk 3 optional). u If you are to do oral presentation for hwk 3, then you should do hwk 3 (hwk 2 optional). u Option 1: If you choose to do only 1: hwk 2 or hwk 3, it will count the same as hwk 2 + hwk 3 weighting u Option 2: If you do both, each will carry the original weight as described in the syllabus (5% each) u Oral presentation still counts the same (5%) u Please write your choice on your QOTD sheet today: select option 1 or option 2 (tell which hwk you will do : hwk2, hwk3 or both) 3

n Original plan for Exam 2 and Final u Final is cumulative, Exam 2 is not. u Exam 2 is to be held Nov. 16, Monday eve. 6:30-8:10pm. u Final : scheduled Dec. 15, Tuesday 8:30-11:30am, G017 n Option 1 u leave everything the same. u If more than half choose option 1, we will keep everything the same. n Option 2 u Exam 2 is optional (then tell whether you would take it or not) u If you choose to take exam 2, it counts as same weight as shown in syllabus (20%) and the final counts (35%) u If you choose not to take it, Final counts 55%. n Option 3 u If less than 20 of 120 choose to take exam 2 u then Exam 2 will not be given; have lecture on Nov. 16. u Exam 1 counts 25% (not 15%), Final counts 45% (not 35%) n Choose Option 1, 2, or 3 write on QOTD; official results announced Friday 4
