2 What is a LiveCD Normally, OS is installed on the local disk and then will be loaded from harddisk. However, OS can also be directly put into memory and running from there without harddisk. LiveCD has everything an OS needed to run and when booting from a CD-ROM, the OS will be loaded from the CD and directly into memory.

3 BIOS: Configure the Boot Sequence BIOS is where you can basically configure your hardware i.e. CPU Onboard clock Disk etc. HOWTO 1. Press "F12" (computer-dependent) 2. Choose "System Setup" 3. Browse around and look for "Boot Sequence" 4. Press "ESC" to exit

6 Burn a LiveCD Find a LiveCD image(.iso) and download it at http://mirror.clarkson.edu/distributions.htmlhttp://mirror.clarkson.edu/distributions.html Burn a LiveCD image into a blank CD/DVD CD--- 700MBytes DVD--- 4.7GBytes (1G = 1024M) HOWTO 1. Physically put a blank CD/DVD into the burner 2. Find the disc image file(.iso) 3. Right click the disc image and click "Open with Brasero" 4. Select the disc image and Select the proper burner 5. Click the button "Burn"
