3 © United Nations Development Programme Incidence of extreme poverty declined from 42 percent to 31 percent Proportion of malnourished people declined form 20 percent to 17 percent Child mortality rate – from 106 to 74 per one thousand live births Net primary enrolment – increased from 83 percent to 89% percent Number of people newly HIV-infected declined from 3.0 to 2.7 million Share of female seats in parliaments increased from 10 percent to 17 percent AN EIGHT-POINT AGENDA PRE-CRISIS MDG PROGESS
