1 Special Report NuMI Target Updates Special Report NuMI Target Updates Status Update I.Target Hall Target module ready to accept new target General target hall working ongoing (e.g., dehumidifier maintenance) II.NT-06 Preparation for Beamline Installation Successful downstream water turnaround retrofit of NT-06 QA of weldments revealed excellent results (X-ray shows no internal defects and target pressure tested to 150 psig for 40 minutes with no pressure loss) Reassembled target core in canister Completed survey- all features fall within specified tolerance (~ ¼ mm) Target will be installed and surveyed in carrier frame assembly this week Expect to start installation in NuMI Target Hall Monday 4/4 III. Reclaim NT-02 as a contingency spare ALARA plan in preparation to remedy slipping couplers and install a new DS screw drive bearing block Efforts should re-start later this week May require ~2 weeks of effort to reclaim z-drive motion (if possible) Kris Anderson 28-Mar-2011 Kris Anderson 28-Mar-2011
