Advertising on Search Engines Paid placements place adds on top of or to the side of the “natural results” Paid inclusions guarantee inclusion in the search results identifies as sponsored links

Difficulties in Searching Three problems –“I can’t find what I need.” –“I don’t understand what I got.” –“How accurate is this information?” The size of the Internet and the amount of junk make finding useful information difficult

Special Interest Due to size and searching methods it is estimated that Google only finds 1/500 th of sites Specialty engines provide deeper searches on specific topics Makes it easier to provide useful information
