Clipper’s Personnel Helen—souvenir merchant, employed with the Clippers for 16 years Mike—event manager, employed with the Clippers for 2 months

Attending a Clippers Game Majority of the students interviewed had attended a Clippers game before Most of the students attend at least two games each year Number one selling item of merchandise are cowbells Huge hit with teenagers

Expectations Everyone was surprised by the amount of people in attendance at the game There were long concession lines Availability of seating was limited Parking became more complicated as size of crowd increased

Music at the Game Most of the students enjoyed the music that is played during the games “The music makes you want to dance” Some thought it was funny and corny

Concessions Students usually buy something to eat at the concession stand Favorites: HOTDOGS!! Nachos Cotton candy Pop

Insight #1 The success of the team is important A good team was found to be an important aspect of the fan experience A better team was thought to be more fun to watch

Insight #2 Games are an outlet Like attending Clipper games because it is exciting and fun Typically attend games with family members Clipper games are a fun place to “hang out” with friends Games are a way to have fun and get involved

Insight #3 Late Arrival = Less Satisfaction Teenagers who arrived to the game late received the worst seats As a result, they felt they had fewer opportunities to receive promotional items They felt less included in the game experience

Insight #4 What do they actually do at the games? Showed a mixture of activities: More interested in socializing Just hanging out with friends Getting involved in Clippers activities—when there’s a reason Cheering for the team Dancing to the music

Insight #5 Who do they go to the games with? Clippers games are seen as a family activity Most teenagers surveyed went with friends and family Who the teenagers went with impacted their enjoyment of the game
