How to Create a Rough Draft
4
You will use computer paper to create a rough draft of each slide you plan to use in your PowerPoint presentation.
5
Your rough draft will show all the information that will be used in your presentation, graphics you plan to add, and general layout.
6
You will not be able to start your PowerPoint until I have seen your rough draft.
7
Title Page Your first slide is the title slide. Include the name of your biome. Include a full heading with all members of the group. Add a graphic that looks like your biome.
8
Location The second slide will describe the location of your biome. What parts of the world would I have to travel to if I wanted to explore your biome? Add a graphic.
9
Climate The third slide will describe the climate of your biome. Remember, climate includes temperature and precipitation. What are the average temperatures in your biome? What type of precipitation does your biome receive? How much? Add a graphic.
10
Animals The TWO pages will describe 2 animals that live in your biome. List the name of the animal and a few (3-4) characteristics that describe the animal. Describe at least one adaptation of your animal. Remember, an adaptation is a special feature your animal has that allows it to live in your biome. Add a graphic
11
Plants The sixth slide will describe a plant that lives in your biome. List the name of the plant and a few (3-4) characteristics that describe the it. Describe at least one adaptation of your plant. Remember, an adaptation is a special feature your plant has that allows it to live in your biome. Add a graphic
12
Special Features It’s time to show off your biome. Use the seventh slide to answer these questions. What really cool things did you find out about your biome? Did you discover something you never knew about?
13
Summary & Sources The eighth slide has two purposes. First, write a summary paragraph that ends your presentation. Second, list the sources you used to get your information. For example, if you got information from a website, list the URL of the website: www.mbgnet.mobot.org www.mbgnet.mobot.org Or if you got information from a book, list the book’s title and the page numbers, etc.
14
Assessment You will be graded on the following items: 1.Accurate information in the presentation. 2.Quality of the PowerPoint slide show. This includes grammar and overall look of your presentation. 3.Group work and cooperation while working during class. Everyone must contribute.
