10 Sample Question Example of traffic signal designing given in lec 9. –Recommend a signal phase plan for the intersection shown in the figure. –Plot the ring diagram along with the appropriate critical lane volumes for the recommended signal phase plan for the intersection. –Find an appropriate cycle length for the intersection considering the recommended signal phase plan. –Calculate the effective green time for each of the phases. 11 Things to remember, (if not given in the exam) Total lost time = 3 sec Width of a lane = 3m or 3.5m Saturation headway = 2.14sec Equation for min cycle time will be given but not for desired cycle time. In exam please mention what values you are using. Even while using the standard values it is important to mention it specifically.
