2 Who am I? My name: Koen Berden Atlantic College; Economics at Erasmus; Now: PhD here at Erasmus and part-time lecturer in International Economics Member of AEGEE, the European Student Association since 1996 Currently: Chairman at the European Level and member of the Project team Global Employee

6 What is AEGEE I? Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l’Europe - Forum of European Students Founded in 1985 in Paris Interdisciplinary Students Association 250 locals in 43 European Countries 17.000 members in the whole of Europe Strong network with no national level

7 What is AEGEE II? The largest student orga- nisation in Europe Non-governmental Politically independent Open for students and young professionals Voluntary and non-profit

8 The Aims Living the European Idea across Borders Influencing leaders and society by constructive contribution and activities Complementing University education Creating: social responsibi- lity, transcultural awareness and mobility Open exchange
