2.  She was born in Connecticut in 1949  She was interested in the arts in high school, even making some music  Went to the San Francisco Art Institute where she majored in painting  During a summer trip to Japan after her sophomore year, she discovered her love for photography

3.  In 1970 she approached someone at Rolling Stone Magazine who liked her portfolio  Her first assignment was to photograph John Lennon  It was on the cover and 2 years later she was the chief photographer for the magazine

4.  She was the official photographer of the Rolling Stones 1975 tour

5.  Annie shot this photograph of John Lennon and Yoko Ono just hours before he was killed in 1980  The one on the cover shows Lennon nude

6.  She joined Vanity Fair in 1983  This is when she became known for famous photographs of celebrities  Most famous among them are Whoopi Goldberg submerged in a bath of milk and Demi Moore naked and holding her pregnant belly.

7.  Since then Leibovitz has photographed celebrities ranging from Brad Pitt to Mikhail Baryshnikov. She’s shot Ellen DeGeneres, the George W. Bush cabinet, Michael Moore, Madeleine Albright, and Bill Clinton. She’s shot Scarlett Johannson and Keira Knightley nude, with Tom Ford in a suit; Nicole Kidman in ball gown and spotlights; the world’s long-awaited first glimpse of Suri Cruise, along with parents Tom and Katie.

8.  Her portraits have appeared in Vogue, The New York Times Magazine, and The New Yorker, and in ad campaigns for American Express, the Gap, and the Milk Board.
