3. The iPad is less expensive than laptops. They start at $499.00 as compared to a laptop which can cost up to $2,000.00. At a height of 9.7 inches, a width of 7.47 inches, and a depth of 0.5 inches, the iPad is lightweight for portable travel and saves space on classroom desks as compare to a desktop PC or Laptop. Course textbooks can be downloaded saving thousands of dollars on purchasing textbooks every 5 years.. iPad applications can be uploaded free or for a small price to enhance instruction. The iPad has fast performance. Flipping from one application to another or browsing can be accomplished quickly. As with PC's the iPad has its own operating system which includes a word processor, presentation software, and spreadsheet. The iPad has a battery life of 10 hours, one of the longest of any device.

4. The cost of an iPad is expensive. The prices range from 499.00 to more than 800.00, not including accessories or any application, making it expensive to equip an entire school with the product. Though many of the applications can be uploaded for free, others have to be bought. The prices range from 99 cent to as high as 40 dollars. There is no camera kit installed, therefore it has to be purchased for 29.99. I would suggest only purchasing one for teachers. The iPad is not yet compatible with Flash, limiting web browsing and viewing videos. Requires Windows updated system to upload applications. You need an iTunes account to transfer any data.
