13 Intranets / Extranets Intranets Millions of computers exchanging information around the world, its publicly accessible side is known to us as the World Wide Web and contains billions of pages of information. Works the same way as the internet, except it is limited within a business or organisation. Information can be shared within it, but not accessed by any external source. Extranets Basically an Intranet, but with external access is given to specified users, usually through a password based system. The Internet
