Biomedical Engineering (BME) the application of engineering principles and techniques to the medical field. It combines the design and problem solving skills of engineering with the medical and biological sciences to help improve patient health care and the quality of life of healthy individuals.

Biomedical Engineers Work with electromagnets to study how non-ionizing radiation affects the body. Dr. McDougall’s necklace is attracted to the electromagnet.

Chemical Engineers http://www.che.tamu.edu/department/texas-am-professor-envisions-e- coli-as-future-source-of-energy The “MixAlco” technology, developed by Professor Mark T. Holtzapple, transforms biomass – trees, grass, manure, sewage sludge, garbage, agricultural residues and non-food energy crops – into mixed alcohols that can be blended into Gasoline.

Civil Engineers make our world safer

Computer Engineers make computers work thousands of calculations per second

Electrical Engineers study circuits and microchips

Electrical Engineers maneuver lasers for laser ablation from http://www.bgs.ac.uk/nigl/webimages/A-laser-ablation- spot.jpg

Industrial Engineers maintain the process From http://scrapetv.com/News/News%20Pages/Business/pages-3/Frito-Lay-sued-over-irregularly- shaped-potato-chip-Scrape-TV-The-World-on-your-side.html

Mechanical Engineers study fuel combustion

Mechanical Engineering rocket propellant research http://turbolab.tamu.edu/

Nuclear Engineers study how radioactive particles hurt and help us.

Ocean Engineers study wave processes and human-powered submarines

Structural Engineers test the integrity of products cement cylinder crushed by 11720 psi

Engineers: TeachBuild Travel Measure Make moneyThink Use math Use science Use technology CreateCollaborate Invent Read Study Solve problems Manufacture Put things together Help society Make life comfortable Stay involved Write Publish articles
