3. Context in the Work In the center of the work there is the monster. Possibly self portrait. Soft watches show the decay of mankind. Land shown to be hard as a contrast to the “softness” and represents Gala as a hard protection. The ants also show how time is rigid and temporary. Later remade showing the effects of the Atomic Bomb. Also later had one addition of a fish to show new life.
