Project Status Working on the dissertation Done going to seminars/courses (30 ECTS points required = 0.5 year) Done gaining teaching experience or experience in the dissemination of knowledge (30 ECTS points required) Participating in research activities, including stays at other, mainly foreign, research institutions

The Assessment Process Assessment committee with 3 members (professors, associate professors or equivalent), one member from same institution (normally chairman), 2 members from other institutions. Supervisor can’t be member, but takes part in the work of the committee without voting rights Preliminary assessment – committee submits a recommendation stating whether the dissertation fulfils the requirements for the award of a Ph.D. degree. Public defence Final recommendation from assessment committee
