UCSD Academic Senate Graduate Council ACADEMIC SENATE REVIEW: PROPOSED MAS PROGRAMS The role of Graduate Council and CCGA in reviewing proposals for self-supporting programs is to: Ensure the proposed program conforms to Graduate Council policies and Divisional and Systemwide Regulations; Assess the purpose of the proposed program and how it fits with UCSD’s academic offerings.

What makes it distinct from existing programs and how does it relate to these? P ROFESSIONAL TRAINING : How will the program meet the goals of working professionals?

UCSD Academic Senate Graduate Council Students S TANDARDS TO MAINTAIN QUALITY Address how the program will sustain a high quality student population and create flexibility to accommodate the unique backgrounds of professional students I MPACT ON STUDENTS IN STATE - SUPPORTED PROGRAMS Checks to prevent student inequities If proposed program uses existing courses, effect on state-supported Master’s and PhD students S TUDENT F INANCIAL S UPPORT
