1 Service companies can make two types of marketing decisions: Adjusting the Service Level of service products This is where the quality of a service (based on Performance, Quality, Reliability, and Service) can be adjusted to produce “Basic”, “Standard”, or “Premium” services per product type. Note: Quality levels must be set BEFORE services are produced. The default setting is “Basic”. For more information, see the section entitled “Marketing - Creating or Modifying a Product” Advertising This is where spending on advertisements is adjusted. For more information, see the section entitled “Marketing - Advertising A Service” Marketing Explained

2 A service company can adjust the quality of the services it offers by selecting the Create/Modify A Product menu option under Marketing. When doing so, the following window will appear: Step 1 Select a product category Step 2 Select a new service level (i.e. “Standard” or “Premium”) Step 3 Select “Create New Product” This displays the current service level per product Marketing – Creating or Modifying Product

3 A service company can adjust the spending on advertising by selecting the Advertising menu option under Marketing. When doing so, the following window will appear: Step 1 Select a service product Step 2 Enter the dollar amount to spend on advertising during the current period for the selected product Step 3 Click “OK” to set the advertising for the current period This displays the current period spending for all products This displays the total historical ad spending for the selected product Marketing – Advertising a Service
