1 Example 4.2 Using the Node-Voltage Method Use the node-voltage method of circuit analysis to find the branch currents in the circuit shown

2 Determine the number of essential nodes There are two essential nodes. Thus there will be one node-voltage equation. Identify the nodes as “ground” and “1”.

3 Write the node-voltage equation and solve for v 1. Identify the currents “out of the node(s)”

4 Solve for the branch currents +40V

5 Find the power associated with each source, and state whether the source is delivering power or absorbing power.
