UNIT 2: Weeks 5-8 “Internal Landscape”: This unit focuses on our students and what makes them unique? Art/ Ceramic Design o Discuss the scientific method as one of inquiry, consisting of asking questions, problem solving, making plans, experimenting with forms, using different designs, documenting ideas, and evaluating results. o Investigate the geology of clay, rocks, and minerals; the process of mining, and examine the chemistry of glazes. o Calculate glaze formulas and learn about the chemistry of glazes.
