Magdala Created in 1986 by Irene Devos, nun, with poor people and volunteers who stand together – show solidarity Because : People who need a place to pray The destitutes were buried in the common grave A community member dead on the street because of the cold

Magdala The users : people in great precarity Housing and/or financial, and/or social and sometimes alcool problem The object : community life, a place of welcome and for some a home

The planning of a specific coordination For people who suffer chronic “advanced” illness When there are a lot of social and medical carers

Why implement a plan for coordination of partners ? For the personn a chronological coherence a better organisation (planning the time-table) mutual information For the carers work together and define goals for this person specific use this experience to improve the approach to a wider public

What’s happening ? The carers have their own constraints : Economical management, efficiency Time allowed A quota of people to be accompanied New problems – ex : Wheelie bins to be put out and brought in Washing machine breaks down

The volunteers bring us the solution Willingness of volunteers to adapt their role : Their solidarity Their availability Their faithfulness Working in partnership with volunteers : Training Information Working together
