Your Disc Your old disc works here and no longer works in Building 2 Opens the outside door Monday 7:15 am to Thursday 10:15 pm if needed to get in For Friday 7:15 am to 5:00 pm Does not work on weekends and holidays Weekend and holiday access is through Security Opens all classrooms on the first floor Opens Conference 202. Opens second floor access door Classrooms/Conference 202 open 7:15 am – 3:30 pm and 5:45 pm – 10:15 pm without swipe access Monday to Thursday Classrooms/ Conference 202 open 7:15 am – 3:30 pm Friday

Your Door Key Keep your key with you at all times We do not have a spare in our office Call Security if you need entry to your office—We cannot help you If a key is lost, you will be charged for the cost of the replacement key

Your Mail Key You are issued one mailbox key We have a spare We can issue only one lost spare You will be charged for cost of replacement keys

Your Podium Key Opens the access to the keyboard and mouse Opens access to computer, DVD/VCR, etc. Does not open the front of the podium. That is for User Services only We have spares but care of these keys is essential Do not give keys to students even for presentations—Open the cabinets for them

Using the Podium Log on with ‘faculty’ ‘snickers’ under RIC- ACAD Start the system using the white box. Log on with ‘12345’ Enter When you leave ‘Exit System’ on the white box Log off as you usually would. Shut Down Lock the keyboard drawer and podium cabinet

Your Workroom Key Room 222 is the dedicated workroom Do not give this key to students You have access to copier, paper cutter, network printer, modest supplies Evening copying will be placed in desk drawers—Important! This includes tests not picked up during the day! Needed forms kept in desk drawers

Book Deliveries We do not have a lot of space We do not have access to your office You will get a book arrival slip in your mailbox You may pick up your book in Room 222 Books not picked up by the end of the semester will be removed. Books delivered over the summer may be stored elsewhere for reasons of space

Some Policies No food or drink in the classrooms Do not place items in door jams Erase the white boards when done Log off the computer when done Especially, shut down the computer if you are the last day class or an evening class Computer instructions are on the podium Try to be the last one leaving the class Take your recycling periodically to Room 201 Do not decorate your outside door or wall.

Old Policies Reminder Please give 48 hour lead time for copy work of large amounts, including exams Pick up exams and copying during the daytime if possible. Evening access for exam storage is in Room 222 Students use your mailbox through the secretaries. Items will be stamped and dated. Otherwise, they can slide things under your door Time away form is still needed Book orders to Missy Class changes and room changes through Missy Provide your office hours and schedule to Missy once determined. She will have them put on your office door card holder Syllabi to Missy after first week of class Scheduling and technology use

Some Updates Brackets for the computer labs are on the way The College has purchased “Synchronize’ Smart Technology software to control lab computers Training sessions will be on Friday mornings The College has purchased draw shades for the classroom windows There will be workers doing the punch list this fall

Building Issues Request for shades on the south side Request for additional book shelves Faculty refrigerator cut from budget Faculty coffee Additional furniture for Faculty Lounge and Student Study All building suggestions to me Patience is very important—thank you Please schedule use of conference rooms for department meetings, etc. with Pam to avoid double scheduling Schedule seminars in Conference 202 through Dennis McGovern and Pam but not over the lunch hour

Don’t Forget First year of the writing requirement It is a graded part of your course, no matter how small It needs to be in your syllabi for every course This will have to be done for accreditation anyway
